As a writer, one of the unavoidable but often crippling costs has to do with getting work edited. This ranges from simply having someone read it and give constructive feedback, all the way through to developmental editing and help with writing query letters and blurbs and the like. This includes the vital task of proofreading it properly.

Having done all the work involved in writing the thing in the first place, we find ourselves burdened with the necessity — and often it is a necessity — to get our work professionally looked at and edited into shape. Standard marketplace prices are usually off-putting and beyond our reach, which either delays our progress towards publication, or means that we have to risk putting something out there of low quality and having it fail.

What’s the answer?

I provide a ‘sliding scale’ of benefits to members of the Inner Circle Writers’ Group, and further even greater benefits for subscribers to the Inner Circle Writers’ Magazine. My view is that, by joining my writing group, you demonstrate a commitment to your work already; and by subscribing to the magazine, you extend that commitment even further — such commitment should be rewarded.
